Pakistan Backs IIOJK People; Calls for UN-Resolved Kashmir Peace

BERLIN, Germany (PR) -The Embassy of Pakistan,  Berlin organized a seminar to commemorate Jammu & Kashmir Black Day, reaffirming Pakistan’s solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) and their legitimate struggle for the right to self-determination on Oct 27th.

Welcoming the participants, Ambassador Saqlain Syedah reiterated Pakistan’s continued political, moral, and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people. She emphasized that the international community must act with greater sensitivity toward the realization of the Kashmiris’ Right to Self-Determination, which remains unfulfilled for 78 years due to Indian obstinacy and the inaction of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

Messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out on the occasion. Local speakers, including prominent diaspora members and German friends and well wishers of Pakistan, expressed their solidarity with the people of IIOJK and reaffirmed their support for their just struggle for self-determination.

In their video messages, prominent Kashmiri leaders Mr. Altaf Hussain Wani, Ms. Shamim Shawl, and Mr. Ali Raza Syed shed light on the grave human rights situation in IIOJK. They underscored the urgent need for the international community to ensure implementation of UNSC resolutions to achieve lasting peace and stability in South Asia and beyond. They also extended appreciation to the government and people of Pakistan for their consistent and principled support of the Kashmiri cause.

Following the seminar, a photographic exhibition was held at the Embassy, depicting the ongoing suffering and resilience of the Kashmiri people under occupation. Attendees expressed solidarity with the people of IIOJK and pledged to raise awareness about the issue within their communities in Germany to promote understanding and support for the cause.

The event was attended by a large number of members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora, German citizens, students and civil society representatives.
